Mary Ann Mancia of Eynon never imagined the lifesaving experience she would undergo at Allied Services. Mary Anne was suffering some leg weakness so her doctor sent her to Allied Services to see if rehabilitation services could help her regain mobility. However, her physical therapist suspected that there might be a more concerning cause to Mary Ann’s symptoms. Mary Ann continuously dragged her leg causing her physical therapist to suggest an MRI. This led to the diagnosis of a brain tumor.

In May 2018, Mary Ann underwent surgery. She began her rehabilitation at Allied Services Rehab Hospital in Scranton before starting outpatient physical therapy at the Dickson City Rehab Center. Mary Ann also received speech and occupational therapy at Allied Services. Today, Mary Ann is walking with the assistance of a cane. Thanks to her multi-disciplinary rehab team, she is able to enjoy many of the same activities she enjoyed before her surgery.

“It feels like a miracle. I’m so grateful to all of the staff at Allied Services who helped me regain a sense of normalcy.”
